Nominal Account Memos
Sage Line 50 lets you create a memo for each nominal account record where you can attach any extra text that relates to the account.
Each memo creates a separate text file with the extension .NLM and stores it in a sub-directory of your Sage Line 50 program directory called Memo, e.g. C:\Program Files\Line50\Memo.
The nominal accountÆs reference is used as the file name, i.e. a memo regarding the nominal ledger account for æStockÆ which has the code of 1001 would be stored in a file called 1001.NLM.
These text files can then be loaded into most word processors or other windows applications for printing or incorporation into letters or reports. Alternatively, select any text you require and then use the Copy command on Sage Line 50Æs Edit menu to copy the memo text via the Windows Clipboard.
The size limit of any single memo file is about 64,000 characters of text that is about 800 lines of text or 13 pages. If the file becomes too big you will not be allowed to save and must delete some characters.
